I became a neutral because I saw how often the investigation was the problem.
I’m Chiedza Nziramasanga — an attorney, a licensed private investigator, and an independent workplace investigator based in Seattle.
Before this, I represented workers in cases of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage theft. That work meant reading a lot of investigation files. Some were careful: the scope was defined, both sides were genuinely heard, the credibility calls were reasoned and written down. Those findings held up.
Many didn’t. Questions that were never asked. A respondent who was never given the allegation in enough detail to answer it. Conclusions with no visible reasoning behind them. Those files fell apart the moment anyone pushed on them — and the people who paid for it were the employees who had come forward, and the organizations that believed they had handled it.
I do this work now because a poorly run investigation is worse than no investigation at all. It creates a record that says the organization looked, and found nothing.
I investigate as a neutral third party for state agencies, universities, hospitals, nonprofits, and employers of every size. I have no stake in what I find. That’s the entire point.
